WEEK 25: Inviting *Everyone* to Church

Oi tudo mundo, bem-vindo a Brasil...

TUESDAY
So there's this fella that we always run into in the street and every time he sees us he follows us for forever... to our appointments and everything haha. He kind of has some sort of mental issue and it's nearly impossible to understand what he's saying or why he always follows us around. Today I was getting a little frustrated because we were trying to get work done but he kept talking to us and wouldn't leave us alone, so finally I just asked if there was something we could help him with. He wasn't really talking coherently but he mentioned something like he wanted us to visit his family, so I told him we'll go ahead and cancel our current appointment and follow him to his relative's house.
So we did and actually met two really cool families we're gonna start teaching. The guy is actually pretty nice. It was a good reminder to be patient and be kind to others even if they're testing your patience.

WEDNESDAY
Today we came across two people kissing on the street in broad daylight so I told Elder Macay, "Gimme ten Reals (Brazilian currency) and I'll awkwardly stop them and give them an invite to church." haha Maclay said he wanted to do it so we went over and invited them to church :D
We succeeded in making it awkward haha and halfway through I realized the dude was a guy we've already talked to before. We'd already been to his house. He was really enthusiastic and said he'd love to start taking lessons again so hey never shy away from inviting people to church I guess.

THURSDAY
We had nothing in our fridge today so I went out and bought an entire liter of Acai and ate it all for dinner.

FRIDAY
Tonight we went to one of my favorite family's house to celebrate Clarrisee's second birthday. It was as adorable as it sounds. I attached some pictures below.
Afterward Elder Maclay and I played the ukelele and sang some songs for everyone. I haven't practiced my upper range in forever so I can barely hit some high notes now but it was still really fun.

SATURDAY
English class was cancelled for the second time this week so we just went to a few people's houses and gave a few English tips and a vocab sheet.

We had Aline's baptism today. Her family hasn't been to church in a while so it's great to see them start coming to church.

SUNDAY
Last night we were walking to our last appointment and an elderly lady walked up to us and asked us to help her son. She told us he's hanging out with bad crowds and he's just down the street at a campfire.
We went down there and ran into about 8 drunk dudes who were actually super nice. It's funny because all the drunks love the missionaries. The lady's son was the only one not drinking and we invited him to church. He said to stop by his house later this week. He's a really cool guy.

PICS:
1) ACAI again. Heaven in a cup
2 & 3) Get ready for a cuteness overload: Clarrisee had her 2nd birthday party this week. When I first came here in March she was barely walking and didn't know how to say anything. She's grown up sooo fast. We learned Portuguese together haha.
The missionaries are her favorite haha she loved that we came for her birthday.
4) This is Elder Dog. He's a stray that follows us to all our appointments. He looks like a big dog that was hit with a shrink ray. Really funny to look at tbh
5) A few buds at a district leadership meeting
6) Love this place.
7) Elder Maclay
8) We played Uke and sang for Clarrisee's party
9) Pic with Novo Gama missionaries
10) A BIRD flew into our apartment somehow and spent the day hangin out with us. We opened the window but he wouldn't leave.
