WEEK 15: Zone Training and More Exploring

Image
TUESDAY One of those days again I guess. We knocked on 12 people doors for appointments and only two were home. We had a ward activity and played futebol at the church. Turns out the ward is starting up a weekly futebol night. I'm so pumped, it's so fun playing soccer here, everyone's so good. WEDNESDAY Today was Elder Rudger's birthday. We bought him a lil cake to celebrate (pic attached). Later that night at a member's house one of our Elders had a medical emergency, so we rushed him to the hospital & spent most of the night there with him. Thankfully he's totally fine now but it was definetely a scary night. THURSDAY Today we had a multi-zone conference, so I got to see some of my friends from the MTC as well as old ones from last transfer. I'm able to understand portuguese now, but it takes a whole lot of focus for me to do so, so that conference left me pretty drained. 6 hours of non-stop portuguese. FRIDAY Today we he...

WEDNESDAY Today I listened to a talk from President Uchtdorf from a 2013 General Conference. I think it's one of my favorites.  ***To those of you who aren't very familiar with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints or if you want to know more about the incredible Gospel that I'm devoting two years of hard work and time to (or really anybody reading this), please watch or listen to this talk. I feel like it gives a pretty good rundown of what the church does and how we strive to live our lives as members and as disciples of Jesus Christ. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APwBCEjvSJQ   THURSDAY Soooo I lost my harmonica... again. It fell out of my pocket on the bus. I haven't decided if I'll buy another one this time. FRIDAY Today we had splits and I spent the day in Valparaiso with Elder Cordova. He's a pretty cool chap from Peru. We talked about Peru for a bit and I told him about how I did a humanitarian trip there a whil...

MONDAY Transfer day! Sadly a lot of my district was transferred to places far away, (RIP Nelson & Adaya) but the newbies seem pretty cool & I'm always down to make new friends I got to see my old companion from the MTC, Elder Warnick! It was so great to see him. Sounds like he's enjoying his mission. (I attached a pic below) We also chowed down at McDonalds'. It was my first time having McD's outside the country and it tasted just like home. Haven't had a burger in a long time. TUESDAY Nothing really exceptional today. Except we did see a bad fender bender just across the road from us. It was super loud. No one was hurt, just a few bent up cars. WEDNESDAY Oh wow  today  was exceptional. We have sooo many interested people to teach. I don't want to leave this area; there's so much to do. Our lessons with Ruy are progressing, I think he's my favorite to visit. I love how curious he is and how much he appreciates learning...
