WEEK 27: Pulguinha

TUESDAY

Luan left for Peru yesterday. He's going to Machu Picchu for a week or two.

I love the names people give their dogs here. Ruy's got a dog named "Pulguinha" which means "little flea", because it's a gross rat-looking stray dog he found a year ago. 

My favorite is Luan's dog. His name is "Obrigado Deus por todos nesta casa" which means "Thank you God for all in this house". The dog's name is a catholic prayer.

WEDNESDAY

Today was pretty slow. Tonight we had dinner at a member's house and some of my good elder buds from my first transfer were there. It was way fun and so so great to see them again.

THURSDAY

Oof today was draining. Lots of work to do. We had a lot of lessons but not many people are keeping their commitments like going to church, reading the Book of Mormon, and praying about it. We are teaching some people who are getting married in September and then getting baptized.

FRIDAY

Today was sweeeeet. I needed to get some things from the mission office and buy some books from the church store so Ruy drove us up to Asa Sul, and he dressed up like a missionary for the day hahahah. It was seriously the funniest thing. I put some pictures down below. We got some odd looks when we showed up to the mission office.

SATURDAY

A drunk guy kissed my companions hand today.

SUNDAY

Today the primary kids sang a father's day song because it's Brazilian father's day. I played the piano for them. I'm learning how to sight-read which makes piano way more fun.

We had a really neat lesson at Daiane's house tonight. I've been teaching them how to have family prayer, so now we kneel at the closing prayer during lessons. It definetely makes a difference in the lesson. It makes me miss the nights when my whole family was still at home, doing family prayer each night.
