WEEK 20: Saving Souls (and a Cat...)

TUESDAY
Today at Lidiane's we watched a movie over the Restoration. I love this movie, I think anyone reading this should watch it. If you've got an hour to spare just watch it below, you'll be glad you did.

WEDNESDAY
Today on our way out the door we saw some lump on the ground by the street. We got closer and saw that a cat had gotten its head stuck in an aluminum can overnight and passed out because it couldn't breathe. Anyways it took a little work but we got its head unstuck and it woke up and sprinted away. It was so confused haha.

Not gonna lie, work today was slow and today was just a drag. It happens. Some days are just fantastic and others, like today, you have 17 lessons planned and all of them fall through but two, so the whole day is spent in the dusty streets walking under the hot brazillian sun. At least we talked to a lot of people on the streets as we walked and I talked to a man on the bus about the restoration and what it means to be a missionary.

THURSDAY
Nothing really happened today besides zone conference. Fui bom mesmo.

FRIDAY
Aye whaddya know, all of our lessons happened today. It was a big day, lots of talking and teaching. Good stuff

SATURDAY
Today was decent. We had a family night at Wagner's house. They're one of my favorite member families here. We also had our second english class today. I love teaching.

The addresses here actually make no sense. Even the locals don't understand them. I stopped asking people where addresses are because they just take an educated guess and point in some direction haha. This city could benefit from some address reorganization. For example quadra ("block" in english) 187 is right to quadra F. And after quadra F, it's quadra 10. Also Pedregal has four quadra 1's. Once we saw a house that was casa 29 and lote 7. Casa and lote literally mean the same thing (house). Haha needless to say I've spent a lot of time being lost in the streets here.

SUNDAY
Super great day today. We confirmed Susanne and Alecsanha as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
In the afternoon we went to one of our friend's Catholic churches and it was really cool to experience. The people there were way friendly. They were celebrating John the Baptist and had a huge meeting in an outside pavilion. It felt like a concert which made me a little nostalgic for the states but it was awesome.

After that we had dinner at Luan's house, & Ruy came. Luan & Ruy are total bros. Great guys. We are going to start teaching Luan's family which I'm really really excited about.

With lots'a luv
