WEEK 38: ITS SPOOKY SZNNNNN
TUESDAY
Today we just rode the bus to Palmas the entire day but I LOVED IT. I love bus rides. So much time to think and relax. It was a really nice day to take it easy for a bit. We spent the night at the zone leaders' house of our neighboring zone. Elder Christensen (my old companion) is the zone leader there so it was fun to reminisce about Pedregal days for a bit. They had a powerful AC unit that ran all night so the room was freezing and I didn't pack any blanket. I improvised and used my towel (that only covered my legs) and my two white shirts I packed. Needless to say I hardly got any sleep.
WEDNESDAY
Today was Zone Conference. Man it went by fast.
I've got a lot of old buds in this new zone, I loved seeing them all again cuz it can get kinda lonely way up in Araguaina. After conference we sang Christmas songs together at the piano and I played some songs I'd been writing. This zone has a lot of talented singers. HA ohhh and apparently now I'm going to be the pianist for the Palmas Christmas celebration this December along with another sister and neither of us can actually sight-read decently. It'll be an adventure. I hope I can learn all the pieces in time haha wish me luck yall.
THURSDAY
We got back to Araguaina at FOUR in the morning. Night #2 of almost no sleep. But we got right to work.
It's crazy how difficult it can be sometimes for investigators when the missionaries are gone for just a few days. It seems like we're starting to hit a slow patch in teaching people here. We gotta start meeting some more people.
FRIDAY
I forgot to mention we got smartphones at zone conference. HALLELUJAH.
I think Araguaina was the only place in the mission that hadn't received them yet.
Too bad they don't exactly work yet though. The SIM cards have to be activated. They'll work by Tuesday so until then we'll be with our indestructible phone from the 90's.
SATURDAY
Today we were setting up the church for a baptism and we found a FAT tarantula chilling against the wall. We had a fun time escorting him out, we'll just leave it at that.
SUNDAY
I gave my first talk in church today haha. I made it almost 9 months without having to give one. I thought I was getting away with it. We met a lot of new people today we're excited to start teaching.
Story behind our Halloween decor:
The other day we carried out a garbage bag of old juice and who knows what else. It had a hole in it so Elder Franca sprinted it out to the trash bin and it left a big ole trail haha. Unfortunately we had to go out of town so we didn't have time to clean it up. When we came back it looked like a murder scene. We were about to mop it up but since its SPOOKY SEASON we decided to keep it til November 1st.
