WEEK 55: Carnaval More Like Carnav-not-at-all
TUESDAY
I spent the day in Jardim São Paulo (a neighboring area) to do splits with Elder De Souza. It's a struggling area for various reasons so I spent the day over there to see what's up. We found some awesome people to teach. Haha I think one of the hardest things about doing splits in different areas is meeting GOLDEN investigators and falling in love with the area then having to return to your own. Not that I don't love my own area though. I wouldn't trade Luziânia.
We were teaching this one awesome lady who started talking to us about the bullying problems her daughter faces in school. She said sometimes she comes home with glue in her hair and with kids making fun of her because she has ADHD and some learning disabilities. Then she walked in the door from school and we got to meet her and she turned out to be one of the sweetest little girls I've ever met. It broke Elder Souza & I's heart how ruthless kids can be. There's a lot of potential with that family. I hope they come to church.
THURSDAY
We found a road with a lot of cool people on it. We made a lot of contacts and now we have a lot more people to teach.
We also had an awesome lesson with Crigina, the pregnant mom that we helped move into a new house. I think we'll be marking baptismal dates with her and her kids.

SATURDAY
Carnaval has officially begun. For those who don't know, Carnaval is a huuuuge festival that all of south america throws at the end of February. It's essentially the party-goer version of The Purge. In places like Rio & São Paulo & Bahia unimaginable things happen on the streets. However here in Brasilia I've witnessed a good 0% of anything Carnaval-ish so unfortunately I have no funny missionary stories to share this week. We still have to be in by sundown every day though.
SUNDAY
Paulo & Rômulo were ordained to the priesthood today. It's so great seeing recent converts progress.
Tchau meus queridos,
Elder Young IV
