WEEK 43: Feliz Obrigadodando!

TUESDAY

Today a random chap rode up to us on his bike and was like "hey I need you guys to visit me" so we got his info & planned to visit him. Then not 5 minutes later this motorbike pulls in front of us and does pretty much the exact same thing, except right as we started writing down his contact information it starts POURING rain. I could hardly get anything written down cuz my planner was so wet. Anyways, weird day today.

After that we headed to the church and one of the members showed us how to make ties. We played a bit of ping pong too. Then we headed over to another member's house for a family night and a bunch of pizza. I guess we'll count that as our Thanksgiving dinner lol cuz who knows how our actual Thanksgiving dinner is gonna turn out.

WEDNESDAY

Today on the road pretty much the same thing happened again. All the sudden so many people keep stopping us on the road and ask us what it is we do.

I'm beginning to think the best way to do missionary work is just to walk everywhere and look pretty cuz everyone sees us and wonders who we are. Anyways we wanted to go visit a contact we made the other day and when we found the guy he was sitting in front of a bar with a few buds. When we approached him he grabbed his friend's phone out of his hand and started acting like he was on a phone call. I was like LOL alright we get the hint.

Then we walked down this road looking for something to do and this lady was like "HEY what church are guys from?" so we introduced ourselves. Also today some kid our age stopped us and said he was baptized a while back and wants to start going again. We randomly ran into him again tonight with two of his friends and his brother, all of which we made plans to teach this week. Then as we were headed home these two dudes putting up Black Friday posters were waving at us so we went over and talked to them. Turns out one of them has a brother that's a bishop down in Goias.

ANYWAYS long story short we've been seeing some real blessings recently with all these people coming up and practically making appointments with us. It couldn't be better timing because these past two weeks had been getting real rough with no one to teach, and no one that will actually follow through and make changes in their lives. We've FINALLY have some people to look forward to teaching.

THANKSGIVING

FELIZ AÇÃO DE GRAÇAS!!!

Today my package came that my mom sent back in October (THANKS MOM <3) and it had a bunch of birthday decorations and whatnot and if you think I'd let them all go to waste you'd be sorely mistaken. We decked out our living space with Birthday decorations even though my bday was like three weeks ago. We bought a chicken to fry for dinner tonight and some corn and mashed taters to make Elder Horlacher and I feel at home. SO tonight we're having a Thanksgiving dinner and a second birthday party for me lol.

But once again Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!! I'm grateful for so many things in my life. I think some of the biggest blessings in my life are my family and my friends. Which is pretty much everyone reading this letter haha. I love you all!!! Thanks for being the amazing people you all are every day.

I hope everybody had a great holiday and spent time reflecting on what matters most in life: family, good times, and good food.

FRIDAY

Happy Black Friday. Brazilian Black Friday is actually pretty much the whole month of November so today wasn't anything too special.

EXCEPT at Burger King.

There was a deal for 3 hamburgers for 15 Reais (roughly 3.75$) and there was a line clear out the door and cars stacked up down the street.

There was almost a car wreck cuz someone tried to cut in line with their car.

We were planning on eating there but dipped and went to some other fancy restaurant to get some grub.
