WEEK 48: HAPPY NEW DECADE!!!

NEW YEARS EVE

Today was probably one of the best days of the mish so far. Besides the fact I almost suffocated cuz I had some mega-spicey pimenta (hot sauce)

For lunch we went to this lil restaurant by our house to pick up some food. I noticed they had pimenta so I put some on my plate even though they told me it was super strong.

When I took the first bite my throat literally closed up. Like completely. Couldn't breath for about 10 seconds. Scariest 10 seconds of my life but it's all good now.

WEDNESDAY

This place has so many nice people. It's a little bit wealthier than any of my other areas, which is nice because people tend to keep their commitments more often.

We met a neat, really receptive family that we're excited to start teaching. They're talking a lot about church this Sunday.

SATURDAY

This week I lost my voice and I've had a pretty bad cold, which has made teaching really difficult to say the least haha. But we've been making it work. I'm getting better now. Fairly certain it had something to do with that pimenta earlier this week.

SUNDAY

We met the members of our group today. they all seem pretty awesome. Since it's only a group here, my companion and I are going to be giving talks every other week or so. Better start preparing.

We meet in a middle school each Sunday and don't quite have a chapel yet, so it's pretty humbling to see how everyone makes do with what we have to hold church meetings.

If there's a will there's a way.
