WEEK 52: "Fala Mais Alto Po!!"
TUESDAY
After getting lost for like an hour and a half we finally found Fabio's house. He's a reference from one of the areas in my district and he's a bro for sure. He didn't have much time to today so we just got to know him briefly and marked to pass by another day for a lesson. He's already coming to church Sunday.
Other than that today we stumbled upon a huge football (soccer) stadium in the middle of nowhere sitting on top of this big hill. It looked eerie & abandoned but i dragged my companion with me to go explore it. The sun happened to be going down at the same time so when we got to the top we found an amazing view.
It's always nice to take a minute to enjoy nature whatever you're doing throughout the day.

THURSDAY
I'm so proud of Paulo & his fam. They're trying to hard to keep the word of wisdom & they love the cevada I got them. Their car has two flat tires so figuring out how to get to church is gonna be tricky but if there's a will there's a way.
SATURDAY
I stopped randomly at a door yesterday to do a contact and an old man named Alceu hobbled out with his cane. He invited us in before we even said anything and we told him a tiny bit about the church. He told us he's about 90% deaf so we literally sat four feet apart from him and were screaming directions about how to arrive at the church at this elderly man. I'm sure the passerbys were confused haha
At one point my comp was talking and Alceu interrupted and said "Fala mais alto PO!!!" which is the portuguese equivalent of "Speak up HOMIE!!!"
Eventually he understand enough to know we were inviting him to church and he said he's be ready bright and early at 8:30 to come to church. And when we pulled up on Sunday he was all dressed and ready to go! Waiting on his porch with the church pamphlet we gave him in his shirt pocket. Haha it was adorable.
SUNDAY
Wooooo we had 11 visitors at church today. Hallelujah. Paulo's fam is getting baptized this upcoming weekend. They're already a pretty integrated part of the group. Man that makes me happy.
Afterwards I asked Alceu what he thought of church and he said he didn't understand a word that was said because of his hearing problems, but he felt a lot of strong feelings. He's looking forward to next Sunday and told us to stop by this week to teach him.
Au revoir tout le monde,
Elder Young
